Sometimes, Subtraction is Addition

Take away all that gets in the way to open up to what is meant to be.

Sometimes, making something better means taking away the part of a home that just does not fit.

In this ‘kitchen renovation’ we were faced with a problem most do not have, a house that is just too big. We also were faced with a backyard that did not quite allow for any fun space.

So we looked at the great room that had some dead space on one side and a large bump out into the backyard and started to imagine. What if we move the eating area over there? Then we can eliminate the bump and put in some large accordion doors to the newly expanded backyard?

By removing dead space, we added to the value of the experience of the owners of this house.
