THE DISCOVERY

ASSESSMENT -

VISION AND STRATEGY REVIEW
This is where I get to find out the who, what, where, how much and most importantly, the why! A critical part of every potential project is to sit down together and analyze where you are, where you want to be and how as a team we will get there. This analysis, along with the time we spend discussing it is the most valuable time in the process.

RESEARCH & CONSTRAINTS-

COMING UP WITH A PLAN
Based on years of following the process, seeing the patterns, and all of the hiccups, I can anticipate and plan for a smooth project that meets your goals, local zoning, schedule and budget needs. Each jurisdiction has it’s own zoning and process. This is the time in our process when we get to know the specific rules and set the parameters for your design.

THE DESIGN

CONCEPT DESIGN -

PEN TO PAPER
This is where I get to have fun.  Ideas based on the first two steps are synthesized and create sometimes unexpected solutions that bring the project to life·  Exploring the parameters as defined by you and the local jurisdiction, we find solutions that will inspire you to love where you live.

CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS -

MAKING IT ALL WORK
When you say yes to the concept, I get to work figuring out the details.  Using the most current means and methods of design, I create a set that a builder can work with without using too much 'creative license' - so you get the home you wanted·  If you have a contractor on board, this is a great time to work together to determine what they need and will communicate your design to the craftsman who will build.

SHOVELS IN THE GROUND -

IDEAS BECOME REALITY
We are at your side throughout construction to ensure design intent is maintained.  This step is often overlooked, but all of the work and cost to get to this point is wasted if there is not a good team communication to solve all problems that inevitably come up when paper meets reality
